This one year Course is designed for those people who have a grounding in Gestalt Therapy theory and practice from a two or three year counselling/psychotherapy course which has included personal therapy and a Gestalt supervised placement, or can demonstrate compatible Gestalt knowledge and experience acquired in other ways.
Participants will have opportunities to increase their understanding of the relational/embodied Gestalt approach and to deepen, broaden and integrate their individual therapeutic style.
The course methodology will follow the primarily experiential model which has been successfully developed by CHPC over many years. Attention will be paid to the process of forming and developing the learning community to contain the increasing expansion of the participants’ personal and professional development.
The curriculum will include integrating assessment/diagnostic methods within a Gestalt approach, and will also attend to appropriate developmental, attachment and trauma theories compatible with a Gestalt perspective. Particular emphasis on the course will be given to the challenges and rewards of longer term work.

Assignment: Dissertation of 10,000-12,000 words to be completed
